At Shift Happens, we’re committed to giving every rider a fair shot at success—both on and off the range. We understand that life throws curveballs, so we’ve built policies that balance flexibility for students with respect for our instructors’ time and resources. Whether you're adjusting your schedule or need a second chance to pass your test, here's everything you need to know to stay in the ride.

💸 Refund Policy

At Shift Happens, we strive to create a positive, valuable experience for every student. We also understand that plans can change.

Our refund policy is designed to be fair to both students and instructors.

🗓️ Refund Eligibility

✅ Full Refund

  • Cancel 7 or more days before your scheduled class start date.

🌓 Partial Refund

  • Cancel 3–6 days before the class start date — you may be eligible for a 50% refund.

🚫 No Refund

  • Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the class start time are not eligible for a refund.

🚫 No Refund for Course Failure

Please note: Failing the course does not qualify for a refund.

At Shift Happens, our courses follow Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) standards and include both written and riding evaluations. Students must meet all safety, participation, and performance requirements to pass.

  • If you do not pass the course, your registration fee is non-refundable.

  • However, you may be eligible for a retest or discounted re-enrollment. See our Retest Policy for details.

We are here to support your success — if you have concerns during your course, please speak with your instructor early and often.

🔁 Retest Policy

At Shift Happens, we know that not everyone passes on the first try — and that’s okay! We offer a fair and simple retesting option to help you earn your endorsement.

✅ Who Can Retest?

You may be eligible for a retest if you:

  • Did not pass the riding or written evaluation

  • Completed all other parts of the course

  • Schedule your retest within 30 days of your original class date

💵 Retest Fee: $50

  • Covers instructor time, motorcycle use, and range access

  • Due at the time of scheduling

  • Non-refundable if you miss your appointment without notice

  • Submit your $50 payment to confirm

  • Show up on time with your gear and original paperwork

🚫 Didn’t Pass the Retest?

If you do not pass your retest:

  • You’ll need to re-enroll in the full course

  • Returning students may be eligible for a discounted rate
